Christmas with the Watkins'

We had a great time at our annual Christmas dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse with Ken and Emily. We had a great time! As always we had to pose by the Christmas tree in Centennial Olympic Park after dinner. Mike was in charge of holding our purses...and was not too happy with his job. But hey, what are husbands for?

Christmas Part II

Bradley helped Opa open his gift from us.
Alex was excited about his soccer goal.
After driving back to Atlanta we went down to have Christmas with the Vincents. Alex and Bradley were so excited to have another round of presents. They were both looking very cute in their Spiderman slippers. Alex was a sweet boy and handed out presents to everyone. He even read the tags by himself. Bradley just ran around and helped everyone open gifts.
After a delicious dinner and the presents were opened, Alex and Bradley got to eat their gingerbread house that Oma made. Bradley made himself comfortable on top of the table and started eating. Alex was very polite and made sure to offer pieces of candy and the house to everyone there. Another great Christmas celebration!

Christmas 2005

It started snowing on Christmas night. Mom and Diane ran outside screaming like little girls. Mike got out his snow shovel and started working on the walkway. We kept looking out the windows watching the snow. Merry Christmas!
Here we are just hanging out in on Christmas. This was a BYOB Christmas - Bring Your Own Blanket. It is expensive heating a 70 year old house and so everyone teased me the entire time about being so tight. Hey, why turn up the heat when you can cover up with a quilt for free?
Good thing we don't have any furniture in our living room...otherwise all of the presents would not have fit. Not that I was counting, but I had the most gifts this year. I must have been a very good girl! What a great Christmas!
Here is my Dad wrapped up in the GT quilt I made for him for Christmas.
We found these bourbon balls at the Liquor Barn and just had to get them for Spike. He was not as amused as we were.

Aquarium - Round 2

After we got back to the condo for lunch, the boys were exhausted. They all cuddled up on the couch to rest and watch soccer.

Here are some pictures from our trip to the Georgia Aquarium with Alex and Bradley. They both had a great time and we so well-behaved (much better than their Aunt Leslie).

Sapient Christmas Party

Mike and I had a busy, busy weekend. Last Friday I drove down from Kentucky just in time to go to a Christmas bonfire with Mike's family. We left there and went home to change and headed out to Mike's work Christmas party. We showed up fashionably late (11:00 pm) and then went out to Fado afterwards. We didn't get home until after 3am. Saturday morning Mike went golfing and I did some Christmas shopping with my Mom. We went to a graduation luncheon for Jimmy's sister, Lindsey. Then we went to dinner at Surin with Chris, Taylor and Jimmy before heading over to Randy and Kelly's for the 2nd Annual Alcohol White Elephant. Sunday we got up early and went the aquarium with Liz, Michele, Chris, Alex and Bradley. That night it was out to my Mom's for a Christmas celebration. Whew!! Full program.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

We woke up Monday morning to snow. It wasn't enough to keep us from driving, but just enough to be beautiful.

Mike and I went to get our Christmas tree this past weekend. It was actually snowing while we shopping for the tree so it really put us in the Christmas spirit. We went home, baked cookies, put on some Christmas music and went to decorating.

Thanksgiving 2005

This is Alex after 2 Thanksgiving meals...he has had enough!
Thanksgiving Day was great. We went to see a Just Friends with my Mom and then headed down to Mike's parents for a Thanksgiving feast. Mike brought along the movie Polar Express to watch with Alex and everyone had a good time just relaxing and visiting. Liz cooked quite a meal...I think I was full for days!

Thanksgiving Southern Living Style

We went to Brasstown Valley for a Thanksgiving celebration with my family the weekend before Thanksgiving Day. This year's theme was a Southern Living Thanksgiving and everyone prepared a recipe from Southern Living. I, of course, was in charge of making assignments and I think I may have gone a bit overboard this year (who, me?). I made the pecan pie cake, which I hope everyone enjoyed because I will NEVER make it again. Dad was assigned the 5-onion beef tenderloin, which was delicious, but required way too much work and far too many shallots. I think he spend $25 alone on the stupid shallots. Other than that, I think most people were happy with their recipes and it was a great Thanksgiving celebration.
Next year we will need to work on our presentation style...Martha Stewart would not be proud.

Our first UK basketball game

Mike and I went to our first UK basketball game. Check out the view from our perch...we are six rows from the top. I honestly thought I was having a heart attack after climbing up all of those stairs.

Liz and Vince visit Lexington

Liz and Vince came up to visit us in Lexington and check out our new home. We had a great weekend. The boys made it over to legion while us girls did some shopping. We found "smoky" beer at the Liquor Barn (which by the way is almost the size of the new Ga. Aquarium). Mike and I took our guests to the German restaurant in town and then on Sunday ate dinner for the first time in our dining room. What a treat!

A Picnic in the Park

The Williamsons came to visit us at our "tower house" and a picnic in the park. We all had a great time playing. Alex and Mike had a blast running in and out of the fountains while Bradley and I watched safely from the side. Then it was on to the playground...
