Homecoming Weekend

The Ahrens family stopped by to visit during tailgating.

Mike and I also got up early enough to cheer on DU as they raced to the finish line.

While we were smiling and hanging out, the boys were stuck in the longest meeting ever in DU history! On Friday night we all ended up back at the DU house. We were somewhat disappointed because the house is dry and the food was not quite what was expected. But, hey, that's what happens when you leave it up to boys to plan a party!

The aquarium is almost ready!

After waking up to the sounds of construction (beep, beep, beep) for over two and half years now, the acquarium is just about ready. Mike and I were among the first to buy our yearly pass and we are all set to go for our first visit the day after Thanksgiving. What a great view from our balcony!

Check out our new dining room furniture

We finally got our dining room set. I love it!!! Now I just need my Mom to come back and visit and help me make the drapes for this room. Our house is almost full now...we just have to get furniture for the formal living room.

It is COLD in Lexington!

The temperatures dropped this weekend and Mike and I made our first fire in our house. Our heat isn't working yet so we had to stay cozy by the fire to keep warm.

Keeneland

This weekend my Mom and brother came to visit us in Lexington. We had a great time just hanging out and showing them around Lexington. On Sunday, Mike and Spike went to Keeneland for the races.

Thank you Curi!

Curi sent me these beautiful flowers to cheer me up after my surgery last Friday. I wasn't home when they were delivered so the florist left them at our neighbor's house. When I went to pick them up, the first question our neighbor asked was, "Are you pregnant?"...talk about being speechless! Thanks Curi!

More new furniture

We finally got the pool table set up in the basement. I surprised Mike when he got here and gave him a set of GT pool balls. Dad and Diane came to visit and gave us a GT pool light as a housewarming gift. The man pit is finally starting to come together.

Mike also finally got his leather recliner. This was tough to find...he was after comfort and I was after style. We are both so happy with our new purchase.

Look at Mikey working hard at our new desk. We are almost done furnishing the house. The formal dining room set should be here around the 15th and then all we have left to buy is a couch for the formal living room.
