Merry Christmas

Here is a picture of Mike and I in front of the Christmas tree at Centennial Olympic Park. We went to dinner that night with our friends Ken and Emily for our annual Christmas dinner. In keeping with tradition, we had to have our picture taken in front of the tree!

Spike's Graduation Fiesta

Spike's Graduation!!!

Spike and his proud sister!
Spike and Amelia. Awww...how cute!

Spike and the people that made it all possible...his parents!

Here is Spike walking across the stage after getting his diploma. We won't mention that he almost tripped and fell!

3rd Annual Alcohol White Elephant

The annual white elephant was a blast this year. It happened to also fall on Kelly's birthday so Randy surprised her with this awesome cake and he flew in at the last minute and surprised Kelly for the party. What a guy!!
A picture of me, Mike, and ReMike. Aren't we a cute family??

This year the gift exchange got quite heated...lots of stealing of presents. Mike and I ended up with Jimmy's 2 bottles of white zin that he opened which was great because we contributed them to my brother's graduation party. Jimmy ultimately ended up going home with the gift that Mike and I brought...Old Leghumper Beer and some fine Kentucky Horse Piss beer. You just never know what you are going to find at the Liquor Barn! I think Travis and Anna (who were new to the Alcohol White Elephant) went home as the big winners...Patron and Evan Williams.

What a great picture of the guys! Thanks Kelly for sharing the pics!

Baby Boy Vincent

This picture is a little fuzzy but you can see the foot in the top right corner. While this picture makes the foot look very cute, during the ultrasound our little man was kicking up a storm. He was not happy about having the nurse keep pushing on him and he let her know it!
Here is one of his hands. Isn't it so sweet?
As you can see...there is no doubt about it...this is definitely a boy! The nurse had no problem finding out the sex of the baby. She had barely even started the ultrasound and he was already showing it off.
Mike thinks that the baby has my jaw. When I look at this picture I can definitely see the resemblance.

Here is the profile shot of the baby. Doesn't he look like a little angel? (I think he has his daddy's profile so he is bound to be the most handsome baby ever!!)
Mike and I are so excited that we are going to have a little boy and can't wait until February so we can meet him. Now all we have to do is think about what his name will be.

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Hi everyone...so sorry it has been so long since we have posted. I have lots of pictures to post from GT football games and will try to get to that later this week. I wanted to let you know that Mike and I went to the doctor last Friday for the 18 week appointment and our baby is doing great! The doctor said that we have a very active baby. We were able to hear the heartbeat but the baby would not be still enough to get a reading of the number of heartbeats per minute. I can feel the baby moving in my belly and it is the strangest feeling.

I am finally starting to feel better. The morning sickness is getting much better and the tiredness is starting to go away. I am still not showing much and most people can't even tell I am pregnant.

We ended up having to change our ultrasound appointment and now we go back in on the 13th of October. I can't wait to find out if we will be buying pink or blue.

Update

Mike and I went to the doctor today for my 14-week checkup and got a great report. The doctor said that everything is progressing as it should and we heard the baby's heartbeat again. We go back to the doctor on September 22 and have the triple screen tests done then. We also have scheduled our big ultrasound for October 20th and that is when we find out if we need to buy pink or blue. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Baby Vincent

I know it is hard to see but here are the very first pictures of baby Vincent. The head is at the top of the picture and you can barely make out the short little arms and legs. At the time of this ultrasound I was about 9.5 weeks and the baby was moving all around when the doctor pushed on my belly. I could see the heart beating and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! I am now officially in my second trimester and I am looking forward to having energy again and feeling like myself. I really hope the morning sickness (or in my case, the all day sickness) goes away soon. Mike and I go back to the doctor on the 25th for my next checkup...keep us in your prayers that all goes well.

Meet baby Holden

My cousin David and his wife Tiffanie had a beautiful baby boy on June 20. Mike and I went to breakfast with the family to meet little Holden. He is such a cutie and so well behaved!

Matt and Regan also came to the breakfast. Regan sat in between Mike and I and just loved all of the attention. She loves her Mike!

Catching up!

Fishing at the Lake

We went up to lake to hang out with Uncle Allen, Alicia and Ashley. Mom caught the first fish ever on the dock but Dad could not be outdone by a girl. He caught a baby catfish (it was so cute!) which was bigger than the fish Mom caught. Poor Laura and Ashley weren't able to catch anything...maybe next time!

Mayday Pie

Check out the awesome "Mayday" Pie my Aunt Polly and I made. It was so delicious!! (It is really a Derby Pie but when you live in Lexington it is called a Mayday Pie. We like to think our horse racing at Keeneland is better than the races in Louisville.)

Jimmy comes to Lexington!

Jimmy came to visit us on Derby weekend...he even used 50,000 sky miles to come see us (boy do we feel special). Of course we took him on the highlight tour of Lexington. First we had cocktails at Charlie Brown's and then on to dinner at Billy's BBQ. We took him to Liquor Barn where Jimmy invested in some Horse Piss (a unique tasting beer we can only find here in Lexington, KY). Mike and Jimmy played lots of golf and went to the Buffalo Trace distillery for the tour. On Derby day they did some drive-thru betting at Keeneland.

Keeneland Spring Meet

We made another trip out to Keeneland last week for the end of the Spring meet, and this time we got to sit in one of the boxes on the finish line. We were hosted by Leslie's colleagues in the management department at UK, and although we didn't win a single bet it was still a great time.
