Our weekend exploring Kentucky

On Sunday we went exploring again. We drove out to Red River Gorge and learned about the natural arches here in Kentucky. We did not do any hiking (I was being difficult) but did manage to drive down some scary roads and get some good pictures.

On Saturday we took a field trip to the Woodford Reserve distillery. It was an awesome tour and we can't wait to take our visitors there. The tour was about an hour and a half and we really learned a lot about how bourbon is made. Did you know that 96% of the world's bourbon is made in Kentucky? At the end of the tour we got a sample of the bourbon (wow, was it strong!) and bourbon balls. We also spent some quality time in the gift shop!

Our new kitty - Sophie

The top 2 pictures are of Sophie relaxing at her weekend home in Atlanta.

We went last Friday night to the Lexington Humane Society and brought home Miss Sophie. She is 9 months old and is so small and cute. On Friday when she got to her new house she went off exploring and we couldn't find her anywhere. She had managed to get up in the rafters in the basement and it took us a long time to coax her down. She spent her first night in our bedroom and by Saturday morning she was up in the bed cuddling with us. Sophie would not cooperate for me to get a good picture...she is running all over the house checking everything out. This is the only picture I could get - she is trying to get into her new treats that I got for her.

Happy New Year!

The future Mr. and Mrs. Dustin Thorn. Congratulations Dustin and Amy!!
Dustin and Amy came by on New Year's Eve to share their good news. Dustin had proposed the day before at Chateau Elan (very romantic). He did good!

Another engagement announced over the holidays....the future Mr. and Mrs. Brian Ciccaglione. Love is in the air!

We decided to venture out for New Year's Eve to Underground Atlanta for the peach drop. Brian let us in the VIP area so we were able to bypass the very large crowd. We listened to Collective Soul and then watched the Peach Drop. Welcome to 2006!

Spike and his friend Amelia.
