Keeneland Spring Meet

We made another trip out to Keeneland last week for the end of the Spring meet, and this time we got to sit in one of the boxes on the finish line. We were hosted by Leslie's colleagues in the management department at UK, and although we didn't win a single bet it was still a great time.

Happy Easter

For Easter my parents came to visit us in Lexington. We had quite the weekend. On Friday we walked to our favorite local bar for happy hour and then cooked a gourmet dinner at home. Saturday we went to brunch at the distillery and took the tour. We had the worst tour guide ever (Sherman). Diane made friends with the distillery cat who told her his name was Mocha kitty (even though his real name is Elijah). Look how happy they all are climbing all of those stairs at the distillery! That night we grilled out at home and got to use Mike's new grill for the first time. Sunday morning was Easter brunch and then the company left. I had to lay on the couch all afternoon to recover! What a great weekend.

The L. Scotts come to visit Lexington

The Hartlages came to Lexington for a couple of days and a good time was had by all. We had chili with noodles in honor of Gran, played games, went to the Liquor Barn (it is a must on the tour of Lexington), went to Woodord Reserve distillery, went geo-caching (did I spell that right?), went to the UK bookstore, and dranks lots of martinis. We even went to Louisville to have dinner with Hamilton and then went back to see Aunt Wacko...whew!...what a weekend!

Spring has sprung!

Last fall when Mike's parents were here, Liz planted over 100 tulip bulbs. Over the past week, the tulips have just started to bloom and they are so beautiful. We also discoverd we have lots of daffodils in our yard as well. This is the first time I real plants that are growing...usually I manage to kill all of our plants. Look at Sophie keeping watch over our yard from her sunroom. We have lots of birds here (fat birds) and she sits at the window all day watching them.
