Jack and his daddy!

Jack likes to hang out with his daddy. He is already helping Mike with homework and studying right along with him. On Thursday night Jack helped Mike cheer on the Yellow Jackets to a victory over UNC in basketball. They both can't wait for March Madness to begin!

Jack's Visitors

While at the hospital Traci and Rebecca came to meet Jack. Traci is also a professor at UK and was so nice to have a shower for me here in Lexington. Mike and I have been so blessed to make such wonderful friends here in KY.

Friday was a busy day for Jack. He had lots of visitors. David and Kara came over in the morning to see the little man. David works at UK with me and gave me the update at work while visiting. He and Kara have been such great friends to us and Kara was my backup plan in case I went into labor while Mike was in Atlanta. Luckily we didn't have to call her in the middle of the night to take me to the hospital!

For Kara it was love at first sight! Kara fed Jack while she was here visiting and he even gave her a good burp.

Lorelei (Lolly) had so much fun chasing around after Sophie and trying out Jack's new toys. She discovered that the bouncer made animal noises which was something new to Mike and I. We had no idea all of the fun things that the bouncer does...leave it to a toddler to show us how the thing works!

Kayln came over with Ryan, Traci, and Lorelei to meet Jack. They brought some yummy dinner for us as well. Jack was such an angel and slept through the entire visit.

Heeeeere's Jack!

Our beautiful baby boy James Michael Vincent was born at 3:24pm on February 24, 2007 in Lexington, KY. He was 7lb 1oz and 20 inches long. He and his mommy are doing well, and should go home from the hospital on Tuesday with daddy. Check out his first few days below:

How long will he remain Mommy's little angel?

No baby yet!

Well, Mike and I went to the doctor on the 9th and the doctor does not think that our little man will come before his due date. Evidently I have made him far too comfortable in my belly and he is just not ready. But, he is very healthy and we are both doing great so I guess I cannot complain too much! Besides, it is very cold here in Kentucky so at least I know he is nice and warm. The doctor estimated that he weighs about 7.5 pounds - that sounds huge to me but I think it is right on track with how far along I am.

We go back to the doctor on Valentine's Day so once again I am hoping that when I go she will tell me that he is going to come early! I have been having some contractions but they come and go and vary in intensity. This waiting is killing me...I am not used to not being in charge! I guess he is training me for what it is going to be like after he is here.

Well, that is all for now. I'll keep you posted on any developments.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Nursery

I managed to figure out how to take pictures on our new camcorder. The quality is not as great as with our digital camera but at least you can check out the nursery. Getting the nursery pulled together was definitely a team effort. The bedding was a gift from all of my parents. I love it! My Dad and brother Spike put together the crib (it was a 2 night affair) that we got from Mike's sister, Michele. The changing table, courtesy of Mom and Miller, was put together by my Dad. Big Daddy and Mimi (a.k.a. my Dad and Diane) gave us the dresser and Mike and I put that together ourselves. Fun, fun! Liz and Vince bought the rug for the baby's room. The quilt hanging over the changing table was a gift from my Mom for her first grandbaby.

Putting the nursery together was a real challenge for me because I cannot make a decision right now to save my life. Luckily everyone was very patient with me and moved the furniture all around so that I could find the configuration that I liked the best.

Baby Shower at Curi's

My great friends (and college roomies) Curi and Carrie hosted an awesome baby shower for me and ReMike. The food was awesome (can you tell I am preggers...food is top priority!) and the company was even better. We got so many cute things for the baby.

Our camera decided to break right before our little one is due so it is in the shop right now getting fixed. As soon as we get it back (and I hope that will be soon...it is a rush order considering how close we are to the due date) I will take some pictures of the nursery and post those.

I'm hanging in there but very ready for this baby to come. Mike and I go back to the doctor this Friday (2/9) and I will be almost 38 weeks then so it could be anytime now. Keep your fingers crossed!!
